Pure AlcoholHistoryPure alcohol, or ethanol, has been around for quite some time. It is sometimes used as a form of gasoline and the first engine that could run off of it was created in 1826. Since then many more uses for the fuel have been found. The formula is C2H6O, which means that in every molecule of ethanol, there is two Carbons, six Hydrogens, and one Oxygen. Arnold of Villanova first used alcohol as an anesthetic.

EffectsAlcohol is used in many areas of society, including medicine, transportation, and commercial use. It has allowed people to advance so far in terms of our capabilities and we can now go farther than we ever imagined. It is a great disinfectant and can power almost all forms of transportation. However, some of these uses, despite their great benefits, create the previously mentioned poisonous Carbon Monoxide.
